Our client is a major production facility for gypsum wallboard (like Gyprock plasterboard) and other building materials, focusing on sustainable upgrades, increasing capacity for the local West Australia Market.

The Production Operator is responsible for supporting various stages of the manufacturing process, including boardline operations, laminating, and cornice production. This role involves operating and offsiding machinery, performing manual handling tasks, and using a counterbalance forklift to move and store Gyprock products.

Working hours: Dayshift, arvo and night shift available!

Pay rate: $42.95 - $49.82

Key Responsibilities

Boardline

  • Operate and monitor machinery used to finish Gyprock boards.
  • Use a counterbalance forklift to lift, move, and store long lengths of Gyprock board in designated racking locations.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the production line and report any issues promptly.

Laminator Line

  • Offside the laminating machine as required.
  • Trim excess laminate from Gyprock boards using a safety knife (training provided).
  • Maintain quality standards and ensure safe operation at all times.

Cornice Line

  • Offside machinery that produces long lengths of cornice (up to 4 metres).
  • Perform two-person lifts to collect cornice sections and stack them safely onto pallets
  • Operate a forklift to move and store pallets once stacked
  • Follow safe handling techniques due to product length and awkwardness.

Requirements

  • Experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to perform manual lifting and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods during shifts.
  • Willingness to undergo full training on machinery and safety processes.
  • Forklift licence highly regarded (or willingness to obtain).
